The DeForest Area High School expansion included a new three-station gym and pool. Fearing’s reputation as being the elite audio, video, and security installer in the Madison and Milwaukee areas made us a perfect fit to install the high-end audio in both of the high school’s new areas. The goal of a good audio system is to fill the space with rich, evenly distributed sound so that no one area is too loud or too quiet while not drawing attention to the speakers themselves. We are proud to say that this portion of the high school expansion project has been completed and it was a huge success! Our team loved making a difference working with JH Findorff and Sons and Faith Technologies on this project.
In the new three-station gym, we installed Community Speakers, including 2x Dual 18” subwoofers, Powersoft Amps, and Crestron Control which resulted in around 30,000 total watts! That’s comparable to a Rock ‘n’ Roll concert. The new audio system is controlled by Crestron, giving the users multiple ways to connect and control the sound output – from a simple Bluetooth connection to many input jacks around the facility and the ability to use wireless microphones – the staff and students will be able to play just about anything through the speakers. The pool received a similar setup, but because the area is much smaller and won’t be hosting the same types of events as the gym, the subwoofers were not included.
While every project is important to us, this one was extra special because Fearing’s has multiple employees that live in the DeForest School District and have children that attend the DeForest High School. Being able to provide exceptional sound systems for students, faculty, and visitors to the school meant a lot to our team.
